Sell your old vivo phone.
vivo phones run from the Y and T series to the V series and the X flagships. A buyer looks at the screen, the cameras and the charging, and checks that your Google account is off the phone. Menus differ because vivo phones in India have been moving from Funtouch OS to OriginOS, but the order is the same: remove every account, then erase the phone from Settings.

Turn off Google FRP lock
vivo phones use Google's Factory Reset Protection (FRP), so a phone wiped with your Google account still on it can ask the next owner for your password. Your vivo account links the phone to vivo Cloud and other vivo services, so sign out of that as well.

In Settings, open the accounts section (search for Accounts if you cannot find it), tap your Google account and choose Remove account. Repeat for every Google account.

Open your vivo account in Settings and sign out. If you see a Find phone option there, turn it off first.

Check that no accounts are left on the phone.

Erase the phone from Settings, not recovery mode. Search Settings for Erase all data; on Funtouch OS it is usually under
System management > Backup & reset.

Find the IMEI
- Dial
*#06#in the Phone app. Dual-SIM phones show two IMEIs. - Open
Settings > About phoneand look under Status or the IMEI entry. On older Funtouch OS versions, About phone sits under More settings. - Check the label on the original box.
Check that it is valid with the free IMEI checker.

Get it ready to sell
- Back up with Google (
Settings > Google > All services > Backup) and keep your photos in Google Photos or on a computer. - Moving to another vivo or iQOO phone? Open EasyShare on both phones, choose Phone clone and scan the QR code to copy your data straight across.
- Back up WhatsApp chats from inside WhatsApp.
- If the phone was bought on EMI through a finance company, clear the loan or check with the lender first.
- Remove your Google account and sign out of your vivo account.
- Take out the SIM cards and any memory card, then choose Erase all data in Settings.

What moves the price
- On V and X series phones the cameras matter, so a buyer checks each lens for scratches and tries every camera, including the selfie camera.
- On curved-screen models, the edges are checked closely for cracks and touch problems.
- RAM and storage follow the version on the box. Extended RAM, which borrows from storage, does not count.
- The box, the bill and the original charger all help, and a phone still under warranty is easier to sell.
- A model that still gets software updates is easier to sell than one that has stopped.

Questions
My vivo asks for a Google account after reset. What do I do?
That is Google's Factory Reset Protection. Sign in with the Google account that was on the phone, or use your old screen lock if the phone offers that option. If you forgot the password, recover the account through Google first. If it is not your account, only the owner can unlock it.
Do I need to sign out of my vivo account?
Yes. It links the phone to vivo Cloud and other vivo services. Sign out before you erase the phone, and turn off any Find phone setting it shows, so your data and the phone are no longer connected.
Is EasyShare the same as a backup?
No. EasyShare's Phone clone copies data from your old phone to a new one while both are in your hands. If you are not moving to a new vivo or iQOO phone yet, back up with Google and save your photos before you erase.
