Turn off Google FRP lock

Nothing phones use Google's Find Hub (formerly Find My Device) and Factory Reset Protection (FRP). A phone wiped with your Google account still on it can ask the next owner for your password.

    Open the accounts section in Settings (search for Accounts if you cannot find it), tap your Google account and choose Remove account. Repeat for each Google account.

    Reset from Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).

    Have your screen lock PIN ready; the phone asks for it to confirm the reset.

    If the phone has already left your hands, sign it out from your Google Account's Security > Your devices page.

Find the IMEI

  • Dial *#06# in the Phone app.
  • Open Settings > About phone and look for IMEI, or type IMEI into the Settings search bar.
  • Check the label on the original box.

Check that it is valid with the free IMEI checker.

Get it ready to sell

  • Back up with Google: Settings > Google > All services > Backup, and make sure Google Photos has finished backing up.
  • Moving to a new Android phone? Choose Copy apps and data during its setup, and connect the two phones with a cable if you have one.
  • Back up WhatsApp chats from inside WhatsApp; Nothing advises moving chat history separately.
  • Remove your Google account and take out the SIM card.
  • Reset from Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).

What moves the price

  • On models with Glyph lighting, a buyer tests every light; a dead segment lowers the offer.
  • On models with a transparent back, scratches and cracks show clearly, so the back is checked closely.
  • RAM and storage follow the version on the box.
  • The box, the bill and any accessories that came with the phone all help, especially while it is still under warranty.
  • A model that still gets Nothing OS updates is easier to sell than one whose updates have ended.

Does Nothing have its own phone lock?

Nothing points owners of lost phones to Google's Find Hub, so the lock that matters is Google's Factory Reset Protection. Remove your Google account before you reset.

How do I move my data before selling my Nothing phone?
