Sell your phone

No couriers. No revised quote. Paid before you leave.

At a Recashy partner shop the inspection happens first, in front of you, so the price you hear is the price you get.

  1. Step 01

    Get it ready

Ten minutes at home saves an awkward wait at the counter.

    Read the guide
    • Back up photos and chats
    • Sign out of your Google account or Apple ID
    • Remove the SIM and memory card
    • Factory reset the phone
    • Find the box and bill if you still have them
  2. Step 02

    Bring one photo ID

Shops record every purchase properly. That is what makes it safe for you and for them.

    Read the guide
    • Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence, voter ID or passport
    • Only the last 4 digits are stored, never the full number
    • Your own phone, to receive one OTP
  3. Step 03

    Checked in front of you

Screen, battery, cameras and IMEI are checked while you watch, not in a warehouse later.

    Read the guide
    • The IMEI is validated and recorded
    • The phone gets a condition grade from A to D
    • No obligation. You can simply walk out
  4. Step 04

    Paid before you leave

Cash or UPI, your choice, once the code on your phone is confirmed.

    Read the guide
    • The sale is filed as a locked record with a number
    • The shop cannot edit the record afterwards
    • Keep the record number for your own reference

Questions

Selling, answered.

Everything else is in questions and answers.

How does selling a phone through Recashy work?

Selling your phone through a Recashy partner shop is being built. When it opens, you walk into the shop with your phone, the shop checks it in front of you and agrees a price, verifies your number with a one-time code on your own phone, records the IMEI and pays you the same day in cash or by UPI. What is live today is the free platform that mobile shops use to record the phones they buy.

What happens if I sell to a shop that already uses Recashy?

You will see the same steps at the counter. The shop sends a code to your mobile number, records the phone's IMEI and reads you a short declaration that the phone is yours to sell. The price and the payment are agreed between you and the shop.

Do I have to go to a shop?

Yes. Sales happen in person at the shop's counter, so you can watch your phone being checked and leave with your money. Recashy does not collect phones from homes, and there is no courier.

What should I bring?

Bring the phone, plus its box, bill and charger if you still have them. The shop may ask for an ID, such as Aadhaar, PAN, a driving licence, a voter ID or a passport. You also need a working phone with your own SIM in it, because the shop sends a code to your number.

How long does it take?

Once you have agreed a price, the paperwork takes the shop about two minutes. Doing your backups and signing out of your accounts at home saves the most time at the counter.

Can I sell a phone with a cracked screen or other damage?

That is up to the shop. Recashy's condition grades run from A (like new) to D (damaged), so a damaged phone can be recorded and priced for what it is. A phone still locked to your Google account or Apple Account is a bigger problem than a crack, so sign out before you go.

Can I sell a phone that belongs to someone else in my family?

The seller confirms in the declaration that the phone is their lawful property, and their mobile number is the one that gets verified. So it is best for the owner to come and sell it themselves. If that is not possible, ask the shop before you go.

Who sets the price?

The shop does, after checking the phone in front of you. Recashy does not set or guarantee prices. You are free to ask questions, compare offers and walk away without selling.
