01What this covers

This policy covers recashy.com — the public site, the free tools, and the partner platform used by shops. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

02What we deliberately do not store

Full government ID numbers are never stored. When a shop records an ID proof, only the last 4 digits and an irreversible fingerprint are kept — the full Aadhaar, PAN or licence number cannot be recovered from our systems because it is not in them.

The free tools (IMEI checker, value estimator, checklist) run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them reaches our servers. Checklist progress is saved in your own browser storage.

03What partner shops record

When you sell a phone at a partner shop, the shop files a purchase record: your name, address, phone number (verified by OTP), ID type with last 4 digits, photos of the handset, of you holding it and of the ID, the IMEI, and the price. This is the record-keeping the second-hand trade is required to maintain, and it protects you as much as the shop.

These records belong to the shop that filed them. Recashy stores them securely on the shop’s behalf; access to ID photos is logged every single time.

04Accounts

Shop owners sign in with Google. We receive the name, email address and profile photo of the Google account — nothing else, and we never see passwords.

05Cookies

The public site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. The partner platform sets one session cookie, which is what keeps a dealer signed in.

06Your rights

Want to know what a record about you contains, or believe one is wrong? Write to support@recashy.com with the shop name and the approximate date. Filed records are locked against editing — corrections are filed as linked records, so the history stays honest.

07Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date below changes with it and the change is described here, not buried.
